What’s the Key Difference Between Scrum and SAFe?

It is very much important for people to be clear about the basic differences between scrum and SAFe because these are hot topics in the business world for different kinds of reasons. The productivity and result oriented approach has made them one of the best possible agile frameworks available in the industry which is the main reason that undertaking the SAFe agilist training is a very good idea on the behalf of people so that everybody will be on the right track of making the perfect decisions which will be beneficial for the companies.

Scrum is known as the light in terms of weight framework which will be very much successful in terms of delivering the products of the highest possible value and with the utilisation of this particular framework everybody will be having a clear idea about the adaptive manner of working towards the productivity and creativity to design all these kinds of systems. In this particular manner, everybody can establish themselves as the scrum master without any kind of chaos in the whole system.

On the other hand, SAFe is a popular system that can be perfectly used in terms of implementing the practices of lean, agile and so on in the whole process. This is the most trusted, sustainable and customised framework used by enterprises so that everybody will be able to enjoy the best possible level of operational collaboration, excellence and consumer satisfaction in the companies.

Some of the very basic differences between both of these frameworks have been explained as follows:

  1. Scrum is one of the best possible agile frameworks which has to be implemented by the companies for the projects and bookings in a very simple Organisational structure on the other hand SAFe is implemented in three agile frameworks for larger bodies that are in the process to expand their operations.
  2. The structure of the team in the cases of the scrum will be near about 7-11 members which will be including the main role of the product owner, scrum master and the development team and on the other hand in the cases of SAFe, there will be four key level rules in the form of the release train engineer, program management, value stream engineer, solution architect and so on.
  3. In the case of scrum generally, the level of dependency in the team will be lower in comparison to the SAFe because the development team will be getting the freedom of organising themselves and managing the workload very successfully in the whole process. On the other hand, in the cases of SAFe, there will be a very high level of coordination required in the whole process along with the very high level of alignment of procedures within the management which ultimately creates a very high level of dependency.
  4. In the cases of the scrum, the product will be implanted in such a manner that everybody will be able to enjoy the sprint of the length of 1-4 weeks along with a specific time box in the whole process so that different kinds of ceremonies can occur very well. But in the cases of SAFe, the structure will be including two weeks cycle along with learning and doing the existing methods in the whole process.

Hence, in a nutshell, being very much clear about SAFe VS scrum is a very much important concept to be taken into consideration by people to avoid any kind of chaos and further enjoy out-of-the-box thinking approaches towards solving problems.
